Old neutralized French rubber gas mask from 1938.
Model C38 II C.
This gas mask is pre-1946 and is intended for collection, not use.
This mask was to equip personnel called upon to use optical instruments who were hampered by the rigidity of the envelope of the T31 mask, which prevented them from sticking their face in front of the instruments. They will only be distributed in very small quantities to DCA units following defects and it seems that they were transferred to the civilian population (source: work by Oliver Bellec).
It is in good condition.
It is in its box which has a rusty underside and a few dents.
The strap is cracked but the original piece is present.
