Old Le Mans Café des Îles porcelain advertising plate.
Le Café des Îles was a coffee importer located in Le Mans at numbers 32, 34 and 36 rue Pasteur and managed by Jules Vincent, his Sons & Gendres.
Café des Îles was founded in 1898 and was the custodian of the brands “des Îles”, “du Papillon”, “du Mont St Michel”, “des Somalis”, “JV”, “Bon St Marc”.
This advertising plate commemorates the gold medal obtained in 1900. A new Gold medal will be awarded in 1911 to the Café des Îles.
The drawing represents the logo that was on the Café des Îles invoices.
The plate is in very good condition.
There are no chips, cracks or chips.
There was gilding on the edge of the plate but it is partly erased.
Diameter of the plate: approximately 25 cm.
Used item not found today.
This plate has been around for several decades and is by no means in new condition. It must therefore be taken into account that despite a rigorous selection and description in order to present a quality set, it may contain minimal defects caused by the passage of time in addition to those indicated in the description. To have an impeccable condition, I invite you to turn to new or more modern items.
