At the beginning of the 20th century, small shops were plentiful in our cities and countryside. Large distribution had not yet ravaged our small businesses.

Here is the front of the Descombes bakery located in Clichy sur Seine, at 27 rue du Bois, now rue Henri Barbusse.

We find Mr Descombes Victor at 27 rue du Bois in the 1911 census, as well as his wife Marie who is the editor of the text of the map.

There is always a bakery at this location.
