Old photo card of Joanny Coste cycle & weapons store in Lyon at 155 bvd de La Croix-Rousse

At the beginning of the 20th century, small shops were plentiful in our cities and countryside. Large distribution had not yet ravaged our small businesses.

Here is the storefront of the Joanny Coste armory and cycles located in Lyon, at the corner of rue de la terrasse and boulevard de la Croix-Rousse, more precisely at 155 boulevard de la Croix-Rousse at the current location of the Galopin pub.

We find Mr Joanny Coste in the 1906 census.

In the 1913 directory we can find traces of this cycle store in the name of Mr Ceyzériat as well as the Ourty shirt factory adjacent to the store.

The store appears on another postcard representing a segment of Boulevard de la Croix-Rousse (card not sold with this photo card).
